Andy Polaine's Quotes

Was clearing files off Desktop on my PC. Saw Andy's quotes while opening that file. At that time, I was working on weekly journals for a subject and so, had to re-read Karl's notes to recall and remember what Andy and Robert (my subject tutor) have taught during those weeks.

Have just published Andy's enlightening words at another blog site of mine.

I have also updated that blog with more inspiring articles too.

Enjoy! (if you have time)

Last Project

Documentaries
Today, we had documentary presentations. Some of the documentaries my other classmates presented were good. Some topics were good but there was a bit of a problem showing information visually. Others were good in terms of art direction - their visuals are pretty good. I remember there was one video which focused on an Aussie Grandpa talking about his experiences of Hiroshima and it was really nice and personal although it showed him talking mostly. There were also old photographs. Actually I like history (humanities was one of the subjects I liked in school).

Knives & Jukebox
Another video focused on knives! Yup a very interesting topic! In fact, Matt (our tutor) said that was one of the most original ideas of the year. Another video talked about jukebox (again a good topic) and there were good opening visuals.

Matt's comments on our video
After our turn to present (we were the last ones), Matt gave quite a lot of good comments. He liked the way our video was shown. A good flow and control of visuals and sounds. *beaming*

Behind the scenes
I owe alot to my classmate cum partner, her boyfriend and her brother. Her boyfriend and brother gave alot of feedback which helped us greatly. Her boyfriend really helped us edit sounds alot. Thank goodness I had them to help edit sound stuff. There was applause when our video ended and also right after Matt gave his comments!

Despite difficulties in communication (i had awful moments but i am glad it's over), we managed to produce a video that appeals to people like her brother. I m again glad that they produced good audio! That made me realise how important audio is. It can make one feel settled and understand whats going on. And our efforts were worth everything, we worked on that one all night. We discussed alot on what we should feature and what we thought when we played our video.

A special thank you to Jane, John & Eddy
Thank you, Jane, John & Eddy for everything... giving me a chance to work with you all along, being patient with me, and all the typing and transcripts. Thank you.

Project Week + Floor Night In

Projects
For the 2 past weeks, I have been busy with projects and last week, I finally submitted 3 of the projects all on the same day! Yeah it was quite tough juggling all those 3 projects at the same time. Had to plan and prioritise them days before the deadline which was last Tues.

In fact, I went without sleep for about 2 days because I didnt have time to finish everything. But it felt very good, having completed all of them on time. Anyway I also had to present 2 of them on the actual deadline. Even scrambled to prepare a script for those presentations. That night was a memorable one.

Flash Project
The first project was a Flash program and I showed it after my partner showed her program. I thought it was just an average one cause I took out the trampoline code which was difficult to code - it took me 4 days to code 3 different functions (gynamstics, trapeze and trampoline) but I couldnt finish all of them. And so, decided to take out that trampoline one which was the final function i decided and made it a simple one that i could finish in time. Anyway, showed that program to the tutor and class. Much to my surprise, the tutor clapped and the rest followed! Inside me, I started to smile. ;)

3D Russian Dance & Skipping
When it was my turn to present my 3d animations, I went and showed everyone. Karl helped explain at the same time (I asked him to say out what i have typed down on the script). After Steve gave constructive feedback, he started saying "Good stuff, thanks andre" and clapped. The whole class followed suit but the applause was louder than the first flash presentation!!! Even my classmate told me Steve liked my russian dance very much - she said she could hear it in his voice! *beaming* I thought my work was okay...

Another project was self-branding but I rather not elaborate on that one although the class did clap. I just felt my work was not good enough compared to others' super professional ones. Ok la.

Floor Night in on 13th May
Have just uploaded some photos which my floor mates and I took photos on that night.
Have a good time browsing thru my photos! :)

Me and my friend Posted by Hello

"We had quite a fun Floor Night in ... Had a Zombies theme and thus decorated suitable materials on our floor. What's that event about, u ask? Well, it's one of the Baxter programs and our floor had to decorate a theme on that particular night. Other floors had great decorations such as Jungle, Greek-style etc. In other words, all the floors were competing for "Best Floor" award plus other awards such as "Best Costume" etc."
