event/exhibition/festival/big day out ideas

yo! at the moment, i have been toying with the heart thingy that my Dad had suggested to me a few days ago. It's for an assignment that requires me to come up with a proposal on an event, festival, exhibition or a big day out. my creative juices have run dry and i have to think of good content for a major project as well.

maybe if u have time, help me brainstorm for ideas for that former thingy! thanks!! and of course if you suggest a really good idea and i'll follow up and add your name to the credits!

regarding a major project, i was thinking of doing a mix of 2d animation and film but later a sole 2d animation with peppered cell animation and now 2d animation combined with motion graphics. really like the idea of using motion graphics where i am fascinated with visual effects and text animation etc. what do u think if i combine a little story and the aesthetics into a work i.e i plan to show the significance of story content vs aesthetics?

okay, im going to resume my research on issues that are little known or in need of attention for that proposal.

so what have i been up to?

okay, you guys must be curious as to know what im doing out there in oz land or err sydney.

busy with assignments at the moment.. which is something i enjoy doing!! just submitted another assignment today.. about story stuff... something like writing scripts. that's one of the most interesting subjects that i've ever done. some of the other stories from my class are really interesting and creative.

and gave an presentation with a classmate who has helped alot in terms of writing, she's excellent at writing speech and content! cool. on art theory and history stuff.. something that i never seem to get right. oh well. never good with that kind of stuff especially essays.

and now got another assignment due next monday. something that i want to do! event proposal and career portfolio stuff.

that's it. oh no, not the end actually. of course, got some more assignments and a major project which i have been trying to resolve.

okay gotta go eat mee goreng! only costs abt 20 cents if you buy a bulk of mee goreng otherwise it costs about 35 cents! in australian dollars. dirt cheap, right??? much much cheaper than sg! another thing, if you buy a 1 litre of lemonade soda from coles here, its only about 90 cents or something! heavenly considering those cheap prices! (psst, i forgot about dinner time, so the dining hall closed! argh... )

A few links to share...

Foto Time!

Hehe.. my Birkenstock slippers and grass... guess where I was?

My sis's book... she lent me this book (actually it was a gift from me)

These are Barker apartments (I think). Heard there are nice rooms there.
Probably nicer than here (I hope not!)

That stall was one of the stalls that were set up for Orientation week for fresher UNSW students. Ya members of parliaments in Australia... The PM of Oz is at the centre of the posters.

Cute? Gee... These little white teddy bears belong to Oz Red Cross. Actually they are for sale...

Yeah Oz's version of Singapore's army force.

See those yellow bags? They are free goodie bags given away to UNSW students.

Looks like autumn leaves aint it? But its summer time!

Close-up shot of those unique maple-lookalike (well slightly okay?) leaves

Yup thats our s'pore flag on the far left. Those flags were decorated for COFA's O week. Can u guess these flags belong to which countries?

Beautiful skyline in the evening.. (when you see it in real life, it looks beautiful). Taken at a park in Gosford while walking the dogs with sis and ben.

Nice sky and clouds in the afternoon.. That was when my sis and ben were driving me back to Baxter.

That's my new room. Changed rooms on the opposite side. You can actually view Sydney's famous city (eg harbour bridge, the needle tower etc) from the window.. ya it was messy - it was on the first day i moved in baxter.

4 noticeboards in my room! 3 inside my room and 1 on the oustide of my door. Yup I no longer see little brown bricks all the time! hehe.. now white white white!

Guess what my room number is?

haha... maybe you might want to try striking 4D lottery? (although this is only 3 digits)

Different huh? What a nice change! *breathes with relief*

This storage room.. when i opened that room, i was like OMG!! how to get my stuff out from there!? who put those heavy stuff there?? how could they put them in front of me?? no way for me to go deep inside the room!! what was making matters worse was that one box gave way, dropping things on the floor. i was thinking "why that person never taped it properly??!!" anyway met a baxter girl and we helped move other ppl's stuff so that we can get our stuff. Thanks girl! Anyway i dont ever want to put my stuff there early... maybe i should move to a different place after 6 months. hmm....

That birthday cake was made with LOOOOVVVEEE a few days ago! haha oh hell no! of course not me. that was made by a lovestruck guy for that girl who lives next to me on the same floor. tasted quite good - it was a banana cake. he started to like her last semester and some of us have known about it by now. hmm dunno if he still likes her. hehe that's something that we used to discuss in our freetime.

Now my room is cleared of the mess. After putting the stuff in place, I realised it looked much less crowded with white walls. And it looked brighter. No more gloomy look!

This was the last course of the night 2 days ago. Nice-looking butttt.... tasted not nice... appearances can be deceiving! *shaking my head* That was during the formal commencement dinner for all the kensington colleges (baxter, goldstein & basser).

continued... 1st week of school

ahem... now picking up from where i have left behind yesterday...

about the other note-taker, he's nick. he's ok. at 1st, left a quite bad impression on him. but after reading cheryl's comments, i paused to think. i hate to say this but i dont like the idea of note-takers who dont take notes for other pple at the same time. 'cause i hate the feeling of being left out in classes w/o any note-takers. yah i wish i could get better by practising more on lip-reading and training to hear what other ppl are saying. but even if i try, i wont absorb and understand 100% of the classes.

anyway met him thanks to this really nice andy who had to ask students who my note-taker was. aw... thanks andy :-)

i took up the writing for digital media elective and it was pretty interesting. its about creative writing, brainstorming... and script-writing.. can apply to anything.. even scripts and storyboards. didnt expect the tutor to be andy again but very glad he's teaching us again. its a pity though that he's leaving cofa soon. :-(

15 more mins to go b4 i catch the shuttle bus... yea back to unsw for dinner.

yesterday got no classes. every wed n fri no classes. u must be thinking "gosh this girl is lucky! good life huh?" i beg to differ (yea im defending myself :p) there are lots of things that i want to do... besides, there's a major project... and new skills and loads of readings, lots of portfolio stuff (i.e resumes, CVs, cover letters etc) i hate doing resumes 'cause it always made me recall what i did in the past and start to hate / regret some things that i didnt do. anyway last night got a formal dinner, the food was quite food. ya ya ya i know, i'll post photos asap. right now im at cofa and the fotos are not right here now. they are at home. most probably over the weekend.

and today, shira was really good at typing with almost no errors!!! she could be a secretary anytime! *in awe* anyway watched a really nice n cool short animation "the silver screw"... during the lecture.. she was a 3rd year student in '04. watched a bit of that animation just yesterday! i just loaded up a free cofa dvd to burn for my friends and accidentally watched cool stuff on that dvd. if www.blogger.com has the capaibility to host free video space, i will definitely post these videos here. speaking of which, i am trying to switch to wordpress (www.wordpress.org) which also has a free blog service and abit more flexibility to let me add categories automatically unlike here. or perhaps multiply (http://www.multiply.com) which has a free hosting service for videos as well.

alright got to go, a few mins left. continued...
